Welcome to the website for the Kaipara Cruising and Sportsfishing Club.
The Kaipara Cruising and Sportsfishing Club was officially established in 1940 on land donated by a Mr Archie Baker. The present clubrooms were transported in. But prior to that, an old boat was used for this purpose.
We have a varied membership of people with a strong focus on families. As in most clubs, there is a very active group of about one third of the total membership. These are the people who maintain and support the club throughout the year, with other members taking part in the clubs special events.
Most of the boats within the club are of a by gone era. Cruising and fishing on the Kaipara is always challenging with it being the largest inland waterway in the Southern Hemisphere and 80% of the water changing with each tide. With a lack of channel markings, local knowledge is most important along with a good chart and depth sounder.
The club has a marina, slipway and launch ramp. Our fees and charges would have to be amongst the lowest in the Auckland area.
NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME
